Bringing Traditional Indian Philosophies Back into Global Wellness Practices: An Immersive Workshop

Free EventGlobal Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing at Roundglass, Prakriti Poddar, has worked successfully to make wellness practices informed by Indian philosophies accessible to all globally. In this immersive workshop, she will guide audience members to create their own wellness plan that is tailored for them.
Swami Vivekanand introduced yoga and meditation to the United States in 1893. Over the last several decades commercial yoga studios can practically be found on each street corner in major U.S. cities. But something has been lost in the transnational between how these wellness techniques are practiced in India and how they have manifested themselves in modern U.S. practices. Global Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing at Roundglass, Prakriti Poddar, has powerfully spearheaded a program to bridge this divide.
Wellness practices are much needed especially in today’s society with a mental health crises of the likes we have never before seen, because (among other things) the lock-downs of the pandemic and modern technologies. Ms. Poddar has worked successfully to make wellness practices informed by Indian philosophies accessible to all globally.
In this immersive workshop, Ms. Poddar will guide audience members to create their own wellness plan that is tailored for them. She will demonstrate the wellness techniques she has mastered, and audience members will have an opportunity to practice them.

- Arrive at the check-in desk by 4:20pm. This is an interactive, immersive workshop so arriving on time allows guests to engage in the full event. Due to rush hour traffic and limited city parking, showing up early will help ensure a smoother check-in process.
- A campus map is here. The event location is Sinegal Center for Science and Innovation and the parking garage for general public use is Broadway Garage.
- Parking is available in the Seattle University Broadway Garage which is accessible from Broadway and E Columbia Street. Please reserve The Seattle University Visitor Lot located on E. Marion St and 12th Ave for guests with limited mobility. Parking permits may be purchased virtually through the Pay By Phone app or website with location #31913.
