Varona and Seattle University School of Law invite you to the annual Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic Distinguished Lecture featuring Angela Onwuachi-Willig, Dean and Ryan Roth Gallo Professor of Law at Boston University School of Law. Her lecture is titled, "The Ordinariness of Racism and the Trauma of Resiliency"

About the Delgado/Stefancic Lecture Series:
Taking place annually, the Delgado/Stefancic Lecture honors the lifetime contributions of Seattle University School of Law Professors Delgado and Stefancic to critical outsider jurisprudence by bringing to the Seattle U Law community a scholar who has made significant contributions to critical scholarship.
Acclaimed law professors who previously served on the faculty, Delgado and Stefancic returned to Seattle U Law in the summer of 2022. As leading authors and theorists on race and social change in the United States, they have published numerous books and articles over their remarkable careers that have explored groundbreaking legal frameworks, including critical race theory.
About Dean Angela Onwuachi-Willig:
Angela Onwuachi-Willig is a nationally recognized legal scholar, educator, and academic leader whose work explores the intersection of race, gender, and the law. She is the Dean and Ryan Roth Gallo & Ernest J. Gallo Professor of Law at Boston University School of Law, where she leads one of the nation’s top law schools while continuing a distinguished career in teaching and scholarship.
A prolific author and sought-after speaker, Dean Onwuachi-Willig has written widely on topics including civil rights, employment discrimination, family law, and equal protection, with her scholarship appearing in leading law reviews and academic publications. She is also known for her commitment to strengthening the legal profession through mentorship, inclusive leadership, and the advancement of equity in legal education.
Before joining Boston University, Dean Onwuachi-Willig held faculty appointments and leadership roles at several prominent institutions, building a reputation as an engaged teacher, innovative thinker, and respected voice in the national legal community.
Through her scholarship and service, Dean Onwuachi-Willig continues to shape conversations about justice and opportunity, preparing the next generation of lawyers to lead with excellence, integrity, and purpose.
