Ann Jarris (LEMBA '17), co-founder and CEO of Discovery Health, started her entrepreneurial journey as a participant in Seattle University’s annual business plan competition. In 2017, Ann was awarded the grand prize for her pitch for Discovery Health. Since then, her company has successfully grown to provide important medical services and resources for the maritime industry and beyond.
Join us to learn more about Ann's entrepreneurial journey and how she used her experience competing in the Harriet Stephenson Business Plan Competition to launch her business.
About Discovery Health
Discovery Health is a medical risk management service for the commercial maritime industry, serving the men and women who make their living at sea. In 2020, Discovery Health saw tremendous growth as they expanded their COVID-19 services to include five travel testing sites, 10 community testing locations, and one vaccination site. In addition to their brick-and-mortar locations, they also built incredible mobile testing and vaccination programs to bring testing and vaccination to their remote and concierge clients.

Founder Friday is a recurring event organized by Seattle University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC). Every quarter, the IEC invites Seattle University alumni founders to a fireside chat where they share their entrepreneurial journeys with students, fellow alumni, faculty and external audiences. All Founder Friday events are free and open to the public.
