Invoking the Holy Spirit in Dangerous Hope
About this Event

The Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement presents:
Invoking the Holy Spirit in Dangerous Hope
Working within the parameters of Godly Play, a Montessori-based approach to children's spiritual formation, Dr. Mark Taylor invites you to experience the Church's invocation of the Holy Spirit in a more embodied and affective way, hoping such an experience might orient, disorient, and reorient your adult thinking and liturgical practice.
Mark Lloyd Taylor is Professor Emeritus at Seattle University, having taught theology, worship, and preaching there for twenty-five years. He has also served St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Seattle, Washington) in many roles, including Associate for Liturgy and Godly Play teacher, and is a licensed lay preacher in the Diocese of Olympia.
Taylor’s scholarship encompasses: the love of God; body, gender, and Jesus Christ; feminist, womanist, and process theologies; Melville and Kierkegaard; emergent worship; child theology; and the work and play of preaching.
A boxed lunch will be provided.
