Volunteer at the Solid Ground Giving Garden at Marra Farm! Volunteers will work on building soil, preparing vegetable beds, planting vegetable starts and seeds, weeding by hand, composting, watering, harvesting, washing produce, and distributing produce to the community food bank and other locations. Many volunteers start with limited or no gardening knowledge and learn as they go, any level of gardening skills are welcome!
Volunteer Information
- All ages are welcome! Youth under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult while volunteering. Youth under age 14 must have their parent/guardian sign a Youth Waiver for Marra Farm Volunteers.
- Volunteers 18 and older must sign an Adult Waiver for Marra Farm Volunteers.
- Please bring a water bottle, lunch/snacks for yourself, and clothes for working outside in all weather (including a raincoat, warm socks, sturdy closed-toe shoes, a sunhat, sunscreen, etc.). All gardening equipment (e.g., gloves, wheelbarrows, shovels, etc.) will be provided by staff.
- Physical ability requirements: Generally, this role involves standing, kneeling, bending, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Solid Ground does and will make accommodations for people of differing abilities.
