Sonora Jha in Conversation with Nalini Iyer
About this Event
Join the College of Arts and Sciences for a very special evening with Loyola Professor Sonora Jha, author of the new novel Intemperance. Professor Jha will read from her new work and discuss the issues that the book wrestles with, in conversation with SU Professor of English Nalini Iyer.
About Intemperance: Following up on the critically-acclaimed novel The Laughter—winner of the Washington State Book Award— Intemperance follows a middle-aged woman starts a firestorm when she holds a contest, based on an ancient Indian ritual, in which men must compete to win her affections.
"Gorgeous, witty, sexy, and smart," raves New York Times bestselling author Susan Orlean. "Intemperance is a wonderfully original tale of a woman facing off her own cynicism about love—and prevailing. Jha writes like a dream, and this book will delight you."
Free and open to the public, with refreshments served. Books will be available for purchase from Elliott Bay Bookstore, and Professor Jha will be happy to sign books. Please RSVP.
